August 12, 2022 is now my favorite day of the year. Not only did I get to marry my best friend, but I am now starting a new chapter in my life. This day was beyond magical. My wedding was a royalty theme with a hint of Disney. Hidden Mickey’s were scattered throughout the wedding.
For those of you that attended, let’s see if you could guess them all!
First, my engagement ring is the Zales Disney collection- Sleeping Beauty. My wedding dress is the Kleinfeld exclusive Snow White dress, and my tiara was the Kleinfeld Little Mermaid.
Getting Ready
That morning was so nerve racking. While I was beyond excited, I was so nervous. It’s to be expected, since your life is about to change by the end of the day! No going back now 😝
I got my robe from Amazon (highly recommend for any of your bridal needs)!
Shop the robe below!
After hair and makeup, we did a few photos in our robes. I even made one for my grandmother and mom♡
Here’s what our robe photos and then completely dressed look like! The boys took about 10 minutes to get ready after a full day of playing pool, video games, and poker downstairs in the groom’s suite. How marvelous for them.
For my bridesmaids, I had them help me get ready by assigning them “tasks”. For example, one of my bridesmaids went dress shopping with me and helped me put on my shoes each time. So, I thought it would be fun to have her do it on the most important day. Thanks Kara♡
Courtney got to spritz me with my wedding perfume, while Daisa and Paige (my two maids of honor) helped with my jewelry! Sara and Peyton helped with my veil, which was a chore on it’s own! I love my bridesmaids and I cannot thank them enough for being with me on my big day♡
First Looks
If this isn’t on your list, I would highly recommend it! My husband and I didn’t do a first look, but we did a first touch and read our vows privately together. He’s a little shy, so saying them in front of a crowd made him nervous.
However, we did do first looks with our bridal party and some important people in our life!
For me, I did a first look with the groomsmen, my grandfathers/step-dad/brother, and all of my grandmothers. Definitely a sentimental moment that I think everyone enjoyed. Most of the groomsmen were some of my best friends, so it really made the day feel special when they hyped me up!
My husband did a first look with my bridesmaids and his grandmothers! It was the cutest thing to see♡
Ceremony + Family Pics
If you’ve already been married, then maybe you can relate, but I swear the ceremony felt like it lasted 10 seconds! Either way, it was beyond magical and I love looking back at my photos. Our pastor was a man that has been with me since I was young. He baptized me when I was 10 and it would only be logical he would marry me to the man of my dreams.
For our ceremony, I wanted to do something different than a sand ceremony or unity ties. So, I did some research and found a Love Lock tree. This is to represent my husband and I starting our family. The center lock represents us and there are 4 hooks in the upper branches to represent children. Whenever a child is born, we would put a lock on the tree. I love the idea of this because you get to see your family grow♡
Then, we move on to pictures with our bridal party!!
Reception Time!
Now for the best part… the reception! Instead of doing the traditional bridesmaid + groomsmen entrance, I had all the bridesmaids pick a song to enter to and same for the groomsmen. I think this worked out better because the girls had already bonded during our time together, same for the men.
Yes, the groomsmen entered shotgunning beers! Definitely represents them well ♡😆
First Dances
Another hidden mickey, our first dance was the instrumental version of Once Upon A Dream from Sleeping Beauty. A magical and tasteful dance. After our first dance, I danced with my mom and my husband danced with his sister (since their mom passed away the year before). It was a beautiful moment to honor Beth♡
I ended the night with the last song being the Aggie War Hymn. It was so amazing to see all the Aggies come together on the dance floor and represent our school.
Make sure you have a good DJ to get your dance floor going! I highly recommend DJ Connections! 19/10 did a phenomenal job and even let us karaoke last minute!
To end the night, my husband and I did a last private dance to Elvis Presley “Can’t Help Falling In Love”. Then, the big reveal of our exit… a helicopter! Definitely one of the most badass feelings and something I’d never seen someone do!
The Details
I love the detailed shots throughout the day! My perfume bottle, the reception hall, everything! My photographer was amazing and I couldn’t ask for anyone better ♡
Bride + Groom
That’s my big day! Thank you to everyone that came out♡ We love you all!
