If I could have a second home in the US, I would choose NYC. Since my cousin lives here, being her famous model self- I know, small flex on the rest of us. Check her out! She does amazing work – @walldamort on Insta.
She showed me around this gorgeous city and I fell in love! We had so much fun, did so many tourists/non tourists things, and hardly stayed inside the apartment.

My Where I Stayed for this segment is with my cousin. There’s a ton of options around NYC and even Airbnb’s! However, if you have family, that does help a little bit and they possibly know some other amazing spots within the city.
Where I Ate
First off, I would go to NYC solely for Terakawa Ramen. This place is absolutely AMAZING! The best ramen I have ever had and reasonable pricing. It’s tucked away in Hell’s Kitchen and is super cute and fun. A must go on a cold day.
I love eggs benedict and this benny from Morningstar Cafe. A ton of options for your breakfast hunger. Super yummy and a great way to start off your morning. The eggs and bacon were perfect and the sauce was perfect.
If you love sushi, then Haru is the place for you! It could’ve been because it was later in the evening, but it was a quiet and relaxed place with a great atmosphere. You have to have a cocktail with dinner, and this mojito blended perfectly with mine!
Have you ever been to an Australian restaurant in the US? Well, Ruby’s is the place for you then. All the servers are Australian and the food is quite tasty with an outback twist. I adore pasta, so naturally I got the Creamy Chicken. The taste was good and the atmosphere was so different and fun.
Mom’s is a staple in NYC. I can see why now. Their mac and cheese bites were phenomenal! I really didn’t need a meal after that appetizer. Not only is this restaurant full of fun, but so is the menu. Everything about this place invites you in and you can’t have a bad experience.
Sorry about my bitten bagel, but it was so mouth watering I had to take a bite! Hudson Bagel was a quaint little shop on 9th Ave. A great place to stop and grab some breakfast for when you have a busy day! All the bagel options sounded amazing and delicious, and my breakfast bagel was fabulous.
A ton of pasta dishes on here, I know! But ugh, pasta is so good. The Italians really knew what they were doing.
Our first pasta dish is at one of the most fun diner’s I’ve ever experienced, Ellens Stardust Diner. If you don’t get to go to any other restaurant, but this one, you won’t be disappointed. Now, you’re not here for the food. You’re here to see the singing servers in the restaurant.
Yes, singing servers! Every server has either been/or is currently on Broadway. They sing all sorts of songs and dance around the diner. It was so fun! I’ve even got a small video to show you just a taste of what this diner offers.
Wow! Super fun. But make sure you get in line quick, because this spot fills up quick.
Of course it gets chilly in NYC, and on our stroll in Central Park, it started snowing. So we took some time to stop in Irving Farm Coffee to grab a latte to warm ourselves up! I think everyone else had the same idea, because this place was packed!
Our fancy dinner was our Broadway night at Masseria Dei Vini. We got some calamari for an appetizer and I got some ravioli! All was amazing and yummy and readied me for Phantom of the Opera.
A few other places that we went to were The Meatball Shop (amazing meatballs!) and The Blue Dog (great drinks!).
What I Did
What isn’t there to do in NYC? Well, besides trying a ton of food choices, we did do a lot of shopping! NYC has some of the best stores (designer and mom/pop shops). I’ve linked all my looks at the end of this post and on my Shop My Insta tab!
I loved walking around and just seeing all the towns; Chinatown, Little Italy, and so much more! In Chinatown, there is a cute arcade shop called Chinatown Fair Family Fun Center. When you step inside, you feel like a little kid again! So many games to choose from where you can spend hours inside.
We also went to a New Years Eve party, showing off our new buys. That embellished bodysuit is one of my favorites and I wear it every time I go to NYC or just a party.
If you’ve ever seen Gossip Girl, you immediately know where this fountain is! I love all the various monuments and statues throughout this city. It gives off a regal vibe. As you can see, the Balto statue is still standing strong. I love this movie, so actually getting to see this was so fun!
Now if you love sweets, take a peek into the M&M World or Hershey store in Times Square. Hundreds of different color M&Ms that I had never seen before! Here’s a video of the many of colors.
The Rockefeller tree was huge! We took some time to ice skate by this staple and I would do it over and over again. Might have been a wee cold on the ice, but it was so worth it to just be able to see the beauty of everything.
More photos of the fabulous statues/monuments throughout New York. Times Square was one of my favorite places, just because everything was so lively! We even got to see the army slabs with all the names of fallen soldiers. Definitely a must see.
And a must do is Broadway! We went and saw Phantom of the Opera, which was spectacular! A huge shout out to the cast for putting on a tremendous performance. There are so many shows you can go see and I suggest seeing at least one! I would see all if I could, but I ran out of time.
Another fun experience was going to the LOL Times Square Comedy Club. Super fun club and super affordable. This was one of my favorite things to do and I would suggest anyone to go! If you need/want a good laugh, these comedians hit it out of the park.
That’s my NYC experience in a nutshell and I will have many more in the near future, once this COVID stuff calms down. Hint hint- all of this was pre-quarantine.
Now here’s a few more fun photos and a Shop the Look! Happy travels, heles ♥️ xo
