It’s officially 358 days until my big day! So, I’ve decided to take you guys with me on my wedding adventure.
My top 5 wedding venues are below! Keep in mind, these venues hold 250+ in their ceremony and reception hall. I will be making a venue post for those whose max is 150-200 people.
1. Lone Star Mansion
This place is every princess’s dream. This 3 story mansion is beyond gorgeous and has a ceremony site, as well as reception site. Now, I don’t know about you, but I’m having my wedding in August and I would rather not have my wedding outside.
I loved the back of the mansion with the large pool for cocktail hour. There is even a gazebo out by the pond that is absolutely gorgeous! The staff here was also beyond amazing and fun to talk to. Fabiola is the owner of Lone Star and she’s so fun!
Some of the great amenities they offer are an included stay in the mansion the night of your wedding, a kickass groom’s suite, and day of lunch for 20 people! There’s a ton more about this place that just makes it top of the line, but go check it out for yourself. ♥
Also, even if you’re not a booked bride, you can still do engagement shoots/bridals/etc here!
2. The Springs
The Springs actually has 2 venues on their property. You can choose the elegant side or the rustic barn at the front. I loved the manor and all the decor inside. The view from the second level is beyond gorgeous and it really gives an open vibe. This is perfect if you are wanting an outside wedding, seeing as how the grounds are so luscious and green.
The reception will be held within the manor and if you have a larger guest count, just keep in mind you might have to put some tables upstairs! The fireplace is beautiful and gives a great background for your head table/sweetheart table. I love how white and modern everything is, and the bridal suite is just as gorgeous!
Definitely a worth looking into if you’re in the DFW area. However, the Springs does not allow unbooked brides to do photo sessions here.
3. Dove Ridge Vineyard
Dove Ridge was one of our favorites. Whether it be from the woman that showed us around or the fact that there was a winery so close to us, but it was gorgeous! Another wedding you would need outside, unless you are okay with a flip team.
A flip team is a group of people that turn the ceremony hall into the reception hall, should you choose to have them in the same place. A lot of venues include flip teams, but some do not or they require a charge. DRV does charge $150 for a flip team.
Either way, this place is beyond beautiful and it has so many great amenities. Also, depending on the size of your bridal party, I found the brides suite a bit on the smaller side. I have 6 girls on my team and this suite would be perfect for 2-3 bridesmaids. DRV does not allow unbooked brides to do photo sessions here. Still, go get a glass of wine and check this place out!
4. The Brooks in Weatherford
The Brooks is a rustic elegance. I wouldn’t really classify this as rustic, because there’s more rustic looking venues in DFW. This place has a gorgeous chapel and a beautiful reception hall. While the inside is a bit more rustic looking, the outside gives off the elegant look.
I love the bride path they have from the reception hall to the chapel. If you choose to use it, your guests can watch you walk down this marbled path in all of your glory. The bride/groom suites are a bit on the smaller side, but still cute on the inside.
This place is also in a secluded location, so any noise won’t be a bother! Still a gorgeous venue and great people to work with! You can even do photo sessions here if you’re not a booked bride! Definitely a big plus.
5. Knotting Hill Place
Now this is a place if you want to live out your princess/queen dreams. The venue is beyond phenomenal and I can’t talk enough about the amenities. From the outside of the castle to the courtyard, you cannot go wrong here. It holds 400 people comfortably and the chapel area even has upstairs seating for those running a bit behind.
Valet parking is complimentary with 150+ guest count and there are so many picturesque opportunities here. This was in my top two venues for elegance. The bride/groom suites are amazing and hold enough people, they have games/entertainment/etc for everyone, and it’s handicap accessible if needed!
A couple of reasons I did not book with this venue, was because the pricing and the staff. The woman who gave me my tour was beyond sweet and super helpful, but her management above was rather rude and dismissive. I will say, this is one of the higher end venues, but the venue itself is gorgeous. You can also take photo sessions here if you are an unbooked bride!
Just take note of people you talk to during your venue tours, because those people will also be that way on your big day ☺
That’s all for today, heles! Happy travels and good luck if you’re planning a wedding 😘
