Want to go on the coolest honeymoon? I would suggest Dubai and Maldives! Farthest I’ve ever traveled now and one of the most adventurous and gorgeous places.
Day 1
From Texas to Dubai, it was a 16 hour flight 😓 But no worries, because you are given meals on the plane and they were amazing! Also, free access to beer and wine the entire flight. The view at sunset was gorgeous.
When we arrived in Dubai, we were escorted to our hotel and we decided to go to the largest mall in the world! It had to be at least 4 stories and about 2 miles wide. At least that’s what it felt like inside.
There was even an aquarium that you could go into! We just looked at the creatures from the outside, but it was so cool to see the sharks and various sized fish that swam around.
That night, my husband booked us a reservation at an Asian fusion place at The Palm! The food here was delicious and honestly, I could’ve eaten there every day. My favorite part of Lao was not just their waitstaff, but they even went above and beyond for our time there! Peep the cute “Happy Honeymoon” dessert.
Day 2
The next day we went to the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa. It was beyond amazing! 154 floors up and buildings looked like ants. We got snacks, coffee, even wine to enjoy while we got to experience the sights.
Unfortunately, there was a dust storm the day before but it was slowly settling down while we were there.
Afterwards, we went to The Dubai Frame. It was suggested to us by one of our Uber drivers and it was a great suggestion. The Frame shows old Dubai on one side (the small buildings, not as modern) and on the other is new Dubai (skyscrapers, modern, etc).
There was even a glass floor! Definitely a must if you go.
To end the day, we did a sunset safari! This is a NUMBER 1 must do if you go to Dubai. We rode around in the sand dunes, got to watch the sunset over the dunes, sand surf, camel rides, and much more! My favorite part of this Dubai trip.
My husband was so excited to get a Henna tattoo! So naturally, I got one as well and it stayed throughout our whole vacation.
Day 3
Paradise is also known as Maldives. The clearest waters, white sandy beaches, and the nicest people. Only a 4 hour flight from Dubai to MALE, but all worth it when you got to the island of your destination. We stayed at Ozen Madhoo resort, which was a beautiful island turned into an all-inclusive resort.
A quick catamaran ride and we were at our paradise for the next 5 days. We received a welcome champagne when we checked in, and then escorted by a golf cart to our hut over the water.
Popping open a bottle of wine, we sat in the net over the water and just watched the sunset before dinner. We saw so many colorful fish swimming around our hut, and even a shark! Definitely one of the most intense moments to see a black tip reef shark swimming around, but it was wild!
For dinner, we went to the main building. I’ll post my outfit below and where you can get it!
Day 4
The next day was all relaxing and planning our excursions for the trip. My favorite part was the sushi bar at lunch time! The man running the station would make me a surprise sushi plate every day and deliver it to my table ♥
We also booked a few couple massages to truly enjoy the relaxing atmosphere! There was even a giant bathtub that looked over the water.
Day 5
The next day was our first day of excursions! We went scuba diving! I was completely terrified the entire time, but once we were in the water, I felt a little better. Everything under the sea was magical and relaxing. The fish were so vibrant and lively.
For dinner, we had reservations at the Thai restaurant on the island. The food was so yummy and the smell was even better.
Day 6
The next day was a bright and early morning for some deep sea fishing. I caught a yellowfin tuna and an Oahu. My husband caught an Oahu and a grouper! The best part of this was getting to go to dolphin cove and see hundreds and hundreds of dolphins swimming in this little cove.
When we got back, we spent the day with another massage and relaxing by the pool. For dinner, they held a luau for us and provided us the skirts below. It was so fun to see the mixologist and get to experience Maldivian cuisine! 10/10 recommend.
Day 7
For this day, we went and snorkeled in the coves, had a fabulous Maldivian lunch and then went on a sunset dolphin tour, which ended up being some sperm whales! That was the coolest part of the trip by far. There was even a little baby whale alongside the mom! I would’ve loved to see what it was like in the water with them.
For dinner, we got to experience the underwater restaurant that’s 6 meters below the surface. You wouldn’t believe the amount of sea creatures that surrounded the area. So many sharks, a lionfish, huge groupers, and all the fish from Finding Nemo.
Not only was the atmosphere breathtaking, but the food was incredible.
Day 8
Our last full day was another relaxing massage and concluded with a honeymoon dinner on the beach!
I can’t explain enough how welcoming and amazing the staff was at this resort. Anything we needed, someone was right there to help us out. They were all so kind and welcoming and would ask about our day or what we had planned. All of our staff was phenomenal .
If you ever want a suggestion for a honeymoon destination, I hope this talked you to these places! Happy traveling! ♥
