Everyone has a budget for their wedding, but what a lot of brides forget is to tip your vendors! Now, this isn’t a mandatory to-do, but it is polite and highly encouraged if you think your vendors did an amazing job. However, CHECK YOUR CONTRACTS! Sometimes your contract already includes a tip with your overall cost.
If your contract doesn’t have a tip and you would like to do so, here is a little cheat sheet on how much you should tip your vendors♡
Wedding Planner
Between 10-20%, $500, or a nice gift! Wedding planners just want to know they helped make your day perfect, so it’s not expected.
Hair & Makeup
This is more of an expected cost, seeing as how this is a gratuity for these vendors. Between 15-25%, like how you would at a hair salon.
Wedding Delivery & Setup Staff
$5-10 per person! This is anyone who is delivering important items; cake, florals, sound system, etc.
Officiant
This is a bit tricky! If your officiant is part of a church, you’re more expected to make a donation to the organization. However, a tip between $50-100 is expected for the officiant his/herself.
Ceremony Musicians
This isn’t expected, but to be courteous and show your appreciation if you loved their performance, about $15-20 per musician.
Photographer + Videographer
If your photographer and/or videographer went above and beyond and made you feel like giving them a little something extra, tip about $50-100 per person. Or, even a nice gift would suffice!
Florist
About 10-15% of your bill, but this is another not expected vendor! Or even a nice gift will bring a smile to their face.
Transportation
Usually, gratuity is included in your overall cost, so check your contract. However, if it is not, then 15-20% of the bill is standard.
Wedding Band
This is optional, but if your band rocked it all night long, I would highly recommend showing your appreciation! $20-35 per musician would go a long way.
DJ
Another optional vendor, but if you feel inclined you can tip $50-150 for DJ’s.
Bartender(s)
Check your contract, but if gratuity isn’t included then you can tip your bartenders 10% of the total liquor bill.
Photo Booth
Definitely optional, but if you feel like this vendor went above and beyond, then about $20-40 would be great!
Remember to not tip your vendors too early. Most vendors can be tipped after their service is complete. Either you/your wedding planner/bridesmaid can hand the vendor the envelope with their tip!
Happy wedding planning, beauties! ♡ Remember to soak up every moment of your big day, it goes by in the blink of an eye.
