Do you see that water? It’s literally crystal clear! Cruise life is the best life, let me tell ya.
I ate. I drank… sort of. I even got my fins a bit wet.
My family and I love cruising. Like my grandmother has an obsession, which is fine with me.
By Sunday early afternoon, we were boarded the Royal Caribbean- Liberty of the Sea ship.
I came onto the ship with 1 goal in mind: relax while enjoying time with my family, whom is shown above. Just look at my gran (grandma)! She’s the absolute cutest!
*Hint: she’s the only one wearing a hat
I needed to take a break before camp and recruitment came up, which I knew was going to be extremely stressful. As well as my mother’s wedding right around the corner.
The whole point of the cruise was to celebrate my brother’s newly engagement and to bond with the family.
Needless to say, that was quite a success after the first 30 minutes of being on board the ship.
That Monday was spent aboard the ship, heading towards Cozumel.
The whole day was full of water slides, trivia games (which I sang in front of a crowd for extra points for my family), endless food, and just exploring the ship.
On Tuesday, we reached Cozumel and got to swim with the dolphins and hang out at Dolphin Cove Beach.
What better way to celebrate summer than swim with some dolphins? Especially this cutie named Jupiter.
I would have to say that dinner time is always my favorite during a cruise because you get to dress up and go into a fancy dining hall and just be pampered for a week. How much better could life get?
Every night, I wore some sort of nice dress, did my hair and makeup, and strutted the ship like it was my runway.
Sorry it’s not wonderful quality… but I’m poor and didn’t have the iPhone 8+ camera like I do now!
Now lets move on to Wednesday, when we land in Grand Cayman and my heart was stolen by an island.
Yes, Grand Cayman is by far the most beautiful place I’ve ever been to and I want to go back everyday.
Grand Cayman consisted of:
-
Jerk Chicken- the best food you’ll ever eat out of the country… or maybe even in the country if you bring some back.
-
Taj’s Grandma’s famous beach drink- Beach Punch was a home-made alcoholic drink that a young Cayman boy’s grandma made and sold to tourists on the beach.
-
Photo session- because who doesn’t love to look like a complete fool in front of strangers?
After a much needed consumption of Jerk Chicken and Grandma Taj’s beach punch, it was time to head back to the boat and off towards Jamaica.
On Thursday, we hit Jamaica. Now keep in mind I’ve never been here, so all I’m wanting to do is hit the beach and eat some Jerk Chicken (yes, that was here, too.) and drink a pina colada.
The day was just the same as Wednesday: beach, drink, eat, repeat. But I’m not complaining.
Every time after a day at the beach, I shower and wash the salt off my face. Salt dries out your skin and burns, so why not wash it off?
That night for dinner, we got a complementary luxury dinner in one of the paid restaurants. Now, I’m going to hate myself because I can’t remember the name of the place, but all I remember is that the staff was amaze-balls! 10/10 would recommend.
The waiters laughed at some jokes I made to my family, which might not have been that funny, but oh whale. They even showed us some magic tricks for entertainment.
My family split the “sampler” platter and it turned out to be a sample of literally everything on the menu!
Fast forward to our last full day on the ship. Sad day…
There was a “Sexiest Man” contest going on, which made the whole day. There were 5 men on stage that ranged from age 18-60, I swear.
After the entertainment from the contests, my family and I decided to ride the Wave Runner, which is the boogie board/surf board water ride.
Y’all… my gran did it and stayed on longer than I did…
Although, in my defense, I felt my bottoms about to slip right off my butt, soo…. Sorry, I didn’t want the whole boat to see a full moon.
However, a young girl actually did have her bikini top come off and her boobs just exposed. Poor girl… Shouldn’t have worn a string bikini on a wave runner that spews out water at 24,000 gallons per minute.
Overall, the whole cruise was one of the best experiences I had. Although, I prefer Carnival cruise line, Royal Caribbean still had their perks.
If you’re ever thinking about going to Cozumel, Grand Cayman, or Jamaica, I highly recommend bringing some extra cash because that Jerk Chicken will take over your life!
Cruising is the best time of my life and I encourage everyone to go on at least one cruise in your life.
Thanks for diving in and reading, Shell gals!
